"Morenitas Collection"
Guajira y Tapiz. This Guajira or Wayuu lady shows one of the icons of my birth city: Maracaibo, Venezuela.
The piece depicts a Wayuu lady in a traditional dress or "manta" showing a representation of a typical "Tapiz" or tapestry design.
Around the sides of the dress or "manta" are written part of the "Warrior" poem by Nisha Pratap:
She was shattered
like stars on the Andromeda.
Indeed, a magnificent mess it seemed
Through the fog and pain,
the fire in her burnt brighter...
